hangs up. Once the phone goes dead, Sam checks the unconscious thug and finds a packet of
drugs.
Carter pulls over to a food truck and tells Laskey to wait in line and get some food. She then
puts on street clothing and tracks Tierney, who is nearby. She takes more photos and listens
in as he calls Simmons. Simmons tells him to make the payoff and Tierney picks up a package.
Carter calls Laskey to tell him that something came up and he should head back to the precinct.
At headquarters, Finch listens to Gen’s tape and checks Sam’s GPS signal. He realizes that
she’s not near the doctor he recommended to her. Sam is back at Vadim’s apartment and shoots
out the lock, and then asks Vadim why he has the same drugs that Gen’s abductors have. She
pours it out and threatens to either give it to him or flush it. Vadim explains that Tremors and his
people sweep for wires. They paid him in drugs in return for his finding the tapes. Vadim finally
tells them that the Russians are responsible and Sam hands over the drugs. Sam smashes his
head through the glass table and walks out.
Finch finds a tape with Simmons an Yogorov talking on it. Meanwhile, Reese closes in on
the kidnapper’s cell phone, and runs into Carter. Meanwhile, Finch goes through the tapes and
hears Simmons saying that accidents don’t recover a shovel. Carter and Reese both spot Tierney
paying off Tremors. Once Tierney drives off, Reese goes over and knocks Tremors out.
Simmons confronts Gen and demands to know where the tape is.
1993 — The EMT tells Sameen that they’ve called her mom and she’s on the way. Sameen asks
about her father and the EMT finally tells her that her father died in the car. She simply stares
at him and then asks for a sandwich.
2013 — Finch calls Sam to complain that she hasn’t gone to the doctor. She throws away the
phone and keeps going.
Reese calls Finch to tell him that Carter worked out that HR checked Gen’s fingerprints
against immigration records. Finch plays the tape for them, where they discuss how the HR boss
wants the Russians to move the new product. The tanker they’re using has a key ingredient for
bath salts. Finch notes that exposure to the drug causes symptoms similar to Parkinson’s, and
that Tremors is manufacturing for HR. Reese pours some nitroglycerine into a jar and balances
it on Tremor’s shaky hand. He quickly tells them that HR is manufacturing the bath salts and
the Russians move it. They’re calling a meeting with the other gangs to force them to buy the
new drug from HR and sell. Finch finds a recording confirming it, while Tremors explains that
he only made one batch before he was exposed. Satisfied, Reese and Carter walk off and Carter
agrees to trade the tapes for the girl. When she wonders if they’re going to leave Tremors like
that, Reese tells her that the ”nitro” is corn syrup.
Sam calls in an ambulance, claiming that someone is having a heart attack in Yogorov’s
building. She takes advantage of the distraction to get inside and capture Yogorov, and demands
to know where she can find Gen. He explains that HR has Gen and Sam takes some of his blood
to make up for what she’s lost. She then tells Yogorov to call HR.
Simmons is with Gen when Yogorov puts Sam through. Sam tells Gen that she’s coming for
her, and Simmons takes the phone back and offers to make a deal.
Finch warns Reese that it will take hours to transfers the analog tape. Sam shows up and
tells Finch that he hired her to save Gen... and she needs the tapes immediately.
A few minutes later, Reese calls Carter to tell her that Sam took the tapes and is heading
for Randall’s Island to make the trade with Simmons. Reese plans to be there to even the odds.
Meanwhile, Laskey listens in to Carter’s call, and then calls to warn Simmons. Laskey then goes
over and tells Carter that he’s having a problem with someone on the job. He wants to talk
privately at a nearby bar and Carter goes with her.
That night, Simmons puts his men into position and then calls to make sure everyone is set.
He gets no answer and Reese comes up behind him. Simmons invites him to take the girl and
Reese realizes that she’s not there. The crooked cop says that the tapes aren’t there and tosses
down his gun. Reese holsters his gun and Simmons attacks him.
Sam goes to the chem lab following Tierney’s GPS signal, with some help from Finch.
Reese and Simmons keep fighting and Reese finally takes him down. Simmons warns that
there are hundreds just like him. The police pull up and Reese slips away.
Gen sits and listens to the gunshots. Sam finally comes in and tells her that they’re getting
out. She then asks Finch how much he knows about chemistry. A few minutes later, the entire
lab blows up.
