Advertising<br />
The application was advertised for a period of 14 days in accordance with the<br />
provisions of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act <strong>19</strong>93. During this<br />
time <strong>Council</strong> received three representations raising concerns with the proposal.<br />

Issue Raised:<br />
These shelters are an eyesore and take up too much valuable paddock space.<br />
My main concern is being hit by flying sheets of roof iron in the heavy winds.<br />
Planning Comment<br />
The visual amenity of the area comprises a rural landscape typical of the<br />
northwest. In such rural landscapes sheds and storage structures are a normal<br />
visual element. A structural engineering certificate for the sheds was<br />
submitted with the application, which states the sheds will comply with the<br />
relevant standards when constructed in accordance with the engineering design<br />
documents. The assessment required under the Building Approval stage of the<br />
application will ensure that the structures are constructed in accordance with<br />
the structural engineering certificate.<br />

Issue Raised:<br />
The shelters in question are already insitu and take up a large area that<br />
detracts from the beauty of the area and surrounding countryside. The colour<br />
of the shelters detracts from the surrounds.<br />

Issue Raised:<br />
The plans show the sheds built 29 metres from my boundary. There has<br />
already been a situation between myself and Maggie Boyd in regards to myself<br />
shooting vermin up to my fence line.<br />
Planning Comment<br />
From the site plan it appears the shelters will be within 29 metres of the<br />
boundary from 1258 Oldina Road and not 1182 Oldina Road. The issue of<br />
shooting vermin is a domestic issue and not a planning one.<br />
