The application was advertised for a period of 14 days in accordance with the
provisions of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act 1993. During this
time Council received three representations raising concerns with the proposal.

Issue Raised:
These shelters are an eyesore and take up too much valuable paddock space.
My main concern is being hit by flying sheets of roof iron in the heavy winds.
Planning Comment
The visual amenity of the area comprises a rural landscape typical of the
northwest. In such rural landscapes sheds and storage structures are a normal
visual element. A structural engineering certificate for the sheds was
submitted with the application, which states the sheds will comply with the
relevant standards when constructed in accordance with the engineering design
documents. The assessment required under the Building Approval stage of the
application will ensure that the structures are constructed in accordance with
the structural engineering certificate.

Issue Raised:
The shelters in question are already insitu and take up a large area that
detracts from the beauty of the area and surrounding countryside. The colour
of the shelters detracts from the surrounds.

Linden Keep, 1182 Oldina Road, Oldina
Issue Raised:
The plans show the sheds built 29 metres from my boundary. There has
already been a situation between myself and Maggie Boyd in regards to myself
shooting vermin up to my fence line.
Planning Comment
From the site plan it appears the shelters will be within 29 metres of the
boundary from 1258 Oldina Road and not 1182 Oldina Road. The issue of
shooting vermin is a domestic issue and not a planning one.
