<strong>Council</strong> Reports<br />

The proposed 6:00pm commencement time will allow for a meal to be served<br />

immediately prior to an Ordinary meeting. It is also noted that Circular Head<br />

<strong>Council</strong> holds its Ordinary meetings on the third Thursday of each month<br />

commencing at 6:00pm following a meal.<br />

No risks have been identified in relation to this matter.<br />

8. Conclusion<br />

The determination of the timing and alternative locations of meetings is<br />

presented for consideration.<br />

Community Respect Order Program<br />

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the<br />

Department of Police and Emergency Management (DPEM) and <strong>Waratah</strong>-<br />

<strong>Wynyard</strong> <strong>Council</strong>. The purpose of this MoU is to define the responsibilities of<br />

both the DPEM and <strong>Waratah</strong>-<strong>Wynyard</strong> <strong>Council</strong> in relation to the Community<br />

Respect Orders program.<br />

The Community Respect Orders program is an early intervention diversionary<br />

option based on a restorative justice approach, used by Tasmania Police, for<br />

youth and young adults, whereby the offender performs reparation work in the<br />

community under the supervision of Tasmania Police.<br />

TVIN Visitor Experience Assistant Grant<br />

The Wonders of <strong>Wynyard</strong> received a grant for $5,000 under the TVIN Visitor<br />

Experience Assistance Grants. The grant will enable the WOW to implement a<br />

more efficient on-line booking system. Acquisition of the Book Easy Booking<br />

System will make the <strong>Wynyard</strong> Visitor Centre compatible with Tier 1 and Tier<br />

3 Visitor Centres in Tasmania.<br />
