Chapter 4.
Messages
This chapter lists the messages that appear while operating the print
station. None of these messages are serious errors. Figure 4.1 shows two
sample messages on a display screen. (In actual operation, the two
messages could not occur at the same time.) The messages are
displayed in a different intensity or color. In the illustration, the boldface
represents the different color.
Errors are displayed in red text on the screen. Errors prevent printing by
leaving the ready to print status or by preventing use of the ready
selection. Figure 4.2 shows a sample error message displayed during
startup.
When any error occurs, press F2 to display information about the error,
then press F8 to clear the error. Serious errors cannot be cleared by
pressing F8. Instead, a service call by a KODAK field engineer or qualified
service technician must be initiated to correct the problem that caused the
error.
Print station messages are listed in alphabetical order. An explanation,
one or more possible causes, and appropriate actions are listed. Where
more than one action is listed, the first is the most likely solution, and the
last is the least likely.
Note: The following procedures can be performed by an operator. Service
procedures are listed in the on-line help and in the Service Guide. Service
procedures must be handled by operators and/or technicians who have
completed KODAK DT2 service training.
