'Amethyst' (♀) × P. amethystina (♂) Description Stem round, green, reddish where exposed; floriferous; flowers 6-9cm in diameter, unscented, reflexing, gleam in sunlight; sepals pink, 2.7 x 1cm, 0.2cm awn; petals pink 3 x 1cm. Corona filaments in several rows, purple at centre, two outer rows 1.6cm long with reddish, white and blue bands; peduncle 5- 8cm; ovary pilose; bracts foliate, greenish with red veins, 1.3 x 0.9cm, about 0.6cm below the bud; leaves three-lobed, bluegreen, leathery, inner edge of the lobes slightly serrate, 6.5-7.5 x 10-11cm; petiole reddish 2.2-3.5cm with irregularly distributed reverse coniform glands, sometimes in pairs; stipules 2.8-3.4 x 1.5-1.8cm. Named after an Inca princess. The plant was tested for a year and overwintered at 10C. <strong>Flowers</strong> intermittently through the summer season.

'Lucy O' Originator Christian Offert (Germany) Parentage [P. ‘Amethyst × P. caerulea] (♀) × P. ‘Purple Haze’ (♂) Description Stem angular; flowers 8-9cm in diameter, fragrant; petals and sepals greenish white; corona filaments dark purple at centre, white, purple/blue to apex; leaves five-lobed, 7-9.5 x 12cm; bracts 3cm; stipules 1.5 x 2.5cm; peduncle 5cm upright; petiole 4cm with 4 glands. Flowering period July-November. Minimum temperature 5C. Named after the breeder’s cat.
