Description Vine generally similar to P. caerulea; flowers 8cm in diameter;<br />

petals and sepals white; corona filaments purple at base, blue and<br />

white bands to apex; leaves three-lobed, 10cm wide; petiole 1cm;<br />

2 petiole glands close to leaf base; minimum temperature<br />

unknown, but survived winter in a cold greenhouse. This hybrid<br />

was created as a larval food plant for the Postman butterfly<br />

(Heliconius melpomene); it withstands higher temperatures than<br />

P. caerulea.
