(♂) Description Stem round; flowers 9cm in diameter, strong fragrance reminiscent of Lilac (Syringia); petals and sepals purple; outer corona filaments purple with white bands; leaves three-lobed, occasionally four-lobed, 14.5cm long, 9cm wide; petiole 4.5cm with two glands; peduncle 4cm; bracts 1.5cm; stipules 0.5cm. Flowering period May to October. Name after a friend. The female parent is a tetraploid hybrid of P. cincinnata and P. incarnata.

'Mantega' Originator Rosali Ziller (Germany) Parentage P. ‘Manta’ (♀) × P.megacoriacea (♂) Description Stem round; flowers up to 4.2cm in diameter, fragrant; petals absent; sepals light green on adaxial surface, green on abaxial surface; outer corona filaments 1.3cm long, green/brown mottled at base, yellow to apex, inner series 0.3cm long, brown; leaves variable up to three-lobed, 20cm wide x 7cm long, softly hirsute, variegated; petiole 5cm with two glands; peduncle 2cm; bracts absent; stipules 0.5 cm. Flowering period from August. Name derives from a combination of Manta and megacoriacea. The female parent is a hybrid of P. xiikzodz and P. coriacea.
