David has built his career on the development and implementation of
growth strategies, as is witnessed by the variety of companies where he
held the position of Managing Director. David is currently the Managing
Director of CMR (Ireland) Ltd. (www.cmrworld.com), Chairman of EPI Living
(www.epiliving.co.uk), and Principal of his turnaround entity, Corporate
Development.
He carried out an MBO at Ireland’s leading catering equipment supply and
service company, Masser Hammond and trebled the turnover before selling
the company in 2001. Headhunted by the Smurfit Group for company
turnaround, which he did successfully, he was appointed Group Managing
Director of the Woodfab Group, also a member of the Smurfit group. He also
was as a member of the Smurfit (Ireland) executive.
David worked for Inbucon as an international marketing and business
planning consultant in London. Here he gained experience in a variety of
industries, from diesel engines to baked beans. Following an assignment at
Goulding Building Ltd, a System Building and civil engineering company in
the Fitzwilton Group, he was recruited as Managing Director of the company.
His career started with The RHM group.
He considers that the main issue in helping companies is implementing
solutions. David has worked extensively in Northern Ireland, where his
activities included setting up companies in 4 different sectors. He is a fellow
of the Institute of Management Consultants, and more recently, has carried
out over 25 mentoring assignments for Dublin City Enterprise Board.
Earlier in his career David was invited to join Youghal Carpets Ltd on a
turnaround assignment for the Irish operations. Within 18 months, he was
promoted to Director and General Manager of world operations, with special
emphasis on the US.
