Originally I was a handbag designer in a boutique manufacturing company,
I learnt business acumen through the experience of growing a creative
business in a challenging market (1988-1999)

In 1999, I changed direction and worked on marketing projects for craft
& design businesses. Since 2006, I have been a business mentor with
Enterprise Ireland (22 companies), Cork City and County Enterprise Boards
and Udaras na Gaeltachta ( 50 companies +). I deliver training programmes
in the areas of Business Start Up, Marketing & Business Development.
My strengths include excellent communication skills, personal development,
strategic planning, problem solving, product development, merchandising,
branding and marketing. I am currently studying for a certificate in Digital
Marketing to augment my marketing skills. I have great insight into the
challenges facing growing enterprises, I specialise in craft / design and gift
sectors. I focus on client and business development aiming to leave clients
with embedded re-usable skills and behaviours that will assist future growth.
I was involved in all aspects of the business; product development, sourcing
of raw materials, production processes, strategic planning, marketing and
sales development. We exported to the UK and America and were 3rd party
manufacturers for ‘Penhaligons’, whose products sold in Harrods.
