Wethersfield High School
Student Council strived this year to
promote better communication between
the students and administration.
Through Student Council's efforts, the
girls at WHS are now wearing slacks,
students and faculty are enjoying the
new pop machine, and channels have
been opened for talks to improve
curriculum for the benefit of the students.
The adoption of a foster child,
Leticia Hernandez of Mexico, was also
a highlight of S.C.'s activities. The
council sponsored a beautiful Homecoming
and put money in the treasury
with a lovely Turnabout too. A.F.S.
Week proved to be exciting and
profitable and provided S.C. with
money to again bring another A.F.S.
student to Wethersfield and sponsor
an American Abroad. Though Student
Council tried to be a beneficial organization,
many times it struggled
against student apathy and disinterest
and sometimes lost sight of the goals
for which it was intended. All in all,
Student Council remains the voice of
the students and provides the needed
"bridge" between students and faculty.
