1970-71 Future Secretaries
The WHS-KHS Chapter of the Future
Secretaries Association is a combined
effort with the Kewanee Chapter of
the National Secretaries Association
(N.S.A.). The N.S.A. ladies, with the
help of the F.S.A. officers and the
sponsors, (Mr. Myers of WHS, and Mr.
Bartlett of KHS)', plan the monthly
programs and activities. Some annual
events that are included are: a formal
candlelight initiation, a Christmas
party for younger children, a program
on modeling and hair styling, and
talks about secretarial positions.

Deb knows how to please the boss.
At the March meeting, the preliminary
contest for the annual "Miss
Future Secretary," contest took place.
Mrs. Bodine, a legal secretary, set up
a legal court disposition situation. As
the witnesses gave their testimony in
rapid-fire dialogue, the F.S.A. girls
took down as much as they could in
shorthand. They then transcribed
from their notes on the typewriter.
At the April meeting, the finalists
went before a group of interviewers,
who gave them questions pertaining
to secretarial positions. The winner
was Debi Wolf, from WHS.
The F.S.A. year was closed out with
a trip to a business office and a
banquet, treating the seniors. Debi
Wolf, served as a very capable,
earnest president.
