The Wethersfield Chapter of the Future
Homemakers is one of the most active
groups in school. Activities such as selling
mums at Homecoming, Christmas parties,
serving at banquets, selling pins, spring
rallies, fall officers training, an annual
banquet which is held on Thursday night
of F.H.A. week, and many, many more
fun and lively activities are a part of
F.H.A.
There are many aims and purposes outlining
the F.H.A. chapter. First, to promote a
growing appreciation of the joys and satisfactions
of homemaking. Second, to emphasize
the importance of worthy home
membership. Third, to encourage democracy
in home and community life. Fourth,
to work for good home and family life for
all. Fifth, to promote international good
will. Sixth, to foster the development of
creative leadership in home and community
life. Seventh, to provide wholesome
individual and group recreation.
Eighth, to further interest in home economics.
The F.H.A.'s flower is the rose. The rose
represents the search of Future Homemakers
of America for beauty in everyday living.
The F.H.A. colors are red and white. These
colors inspire Future Homemakers of
America with the courage and determination
to succeed.
