Foreword KR Dr. René Alfons Haiden Chairman iconvienna Make contacts to contracts In den bisherigen 10 Jahren wurde iconvienna als Plattform für den Austausch aktueller wirtschaftlicher und wirtschaftspolitischer Themen aufgebaut. Anknüpfend an den Erfolg der vergangenen Jahre hat sich das Forum in eine prestigeträchtige Ost-West-Plattform für Top-Level Networking entwickelt. Nach dem Motto „make contacts to contracts“ schafft iconvienna Möglichkeiten für internationale Entscheidungsträger und Meinungsbildner aus Wirtschaft, Politik und Wissenschaft zu aktuellen Themen, zukünftigen Trends und konkreten Projekten zu diskutieren und damit zur Sicherung Österreichs als Innovator und Business Pionier in Zentral und Osteuropa beizutragen. Das ist um so wichtiger, als die meisten CEE-Länder EU- Mitglieder geworden sind und einige davon auch der Eurozone angehören. Nicht nur die Diskussion der Wirtschaftsthemen ist ein wichtiges Ziel, sondern auch Wirtschaftstreibende direkt persönlich zusammen zu bringen und ihnen die Möglichkeit zu geben, neue Geschäftspartner zu finden. Durchgeführte Befragungen unter den TeilnehmerInnen bestätigen die Erreichung dieser Ziele. Durch diesen Erfahrungsaustausch und die persönlichen Kontakte wird das Verständnis für unsere Nachbarn größer und bessere geschäftliche Lösungen werden möglich. During the last 10 years, iconvienna has been established as a platform for the exchange of current economic and political issues. Tying on the success of the past years the forum developed into a prestigious East-West platform for high level Networking. Following the motto “Make Contacts to Contracts” iconvienna creates space for international decision makers and opinion leaders from economy, politics and science to discuss current topics, future trends and concrete projects and thereby securing Austria as an innovator and business pioneer in the CEE countries. This got even more important when most of these countries have become EU members and some of them also members of the Euro zone. Not only the discussion of economic issues is an important goal, but also to bring business people directly together on a personal level and give them the opportunity to find new business partners. Conducted surveys among the participants confirm the achievement of these goals. Through this exchange of experiences and the established personal contacts the understanding of our neighbors will improve and better solutions for business will be possible. iconannual - The European Business and Investment Magazine 7
