Maintenance<br />

The transponder head is sealed into the housing, using two O-<br />

rings, <strong>and</strong> is held in position by socked-head stainless steel<br />

(SMO type) screws.<br />

Refer to Figure 26, where an <strong>MPT</strong> 319/DT-St is used<br />

as an example.<br />

Opening the unit:<br />

1 Remove the securing screws that secure the transducer<br />

head into the housing.<br />

The EEx models have six securing screws.<br />

The /L-St, /DT-St <strong>and</strong> /I-St have four securing screws.<br />

Note<br />

DO NOT use a screw-driver or similar tool in an attempt to<br />

lever the end cap out. This will damage the sealing surface.<br />

2 Support the transponder head as it is withdrawn. No tool is<br />

to bee used. Just pull the two sections apart. Once the O-<br />

rings are clear of the housing, the transducer <strong>and</strong><br />

electronics chassis may be removed from the housing.<br />
