The NSW Heritage Council came <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> a c<strong>on</strong>trary view as regards the heritage<br />

significance <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> our homes;<br />

Ku-ring-gai Council supported the heritage listing <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> our homes; and<br />

Ku-ring-gai Council was prepared <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> incur additi<strong>on</strong>al costs in support <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the<br />

heritage listing <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> our homes c<strong>on</strong>trary <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> our wishes.<br />

11. C<strong>on</strong>sider it significant th<strong>at</strong> the Royal Australian Institute <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Architects chose <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

nomin<strong>at</strong>e the "Pettit & Sevitt Exhibiti<strong>on</strong> Centre No.1 Precinct" for listing <strong>on</strong> the St<strong>at</strong>e<br />

Heritage Register <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>fore nomin<strong>at</strong>ing our homes, and has <strong>on</strong>ly nomin<strong>at</strong>ed our homes<br />

following the rejecti<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> its first choice.<br />

12. C<strong>on</strong>sider it anomalous, having regard <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the his<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>ry outlined in paragraphs 7 <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> 9<br />

above, th<strong>at</strong> No.2 Stadd<strong>on</strong> Close is listed as a heritage item in Schedule 7 <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Kuring-gai<br />

Planning Scheme Ordinance, and request th<strong>at</strong> such listing <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g> rescinded or<br />

cancelled.<br />

13. Advise th<strong>at</strong> n<strong>on</strong>e <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> us intends <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> demolish our home, and each <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> us intends <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

maintain a high standard <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> maintenance and care.<br />

14. Advise th<strong>at</strong> a num<str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>r <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the homes have <str<strong>on</strong>g>be</str<strong>on</strong>g>en extended and/or altered since their<br />

c<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong>.<br />

15. Kindly request th<strong>at</strong> you, our local elected represent<strong>at</strong>ives:<br />

support our stance against the listing <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> our homes <strong>on</strong> the St<strong>at</strong>e Heritage<br />

Register;<br />

keep us informed <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> any further developments regarding the nomin<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> and any<br />

c<strong>on</strong>sider<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> or recommend<strong>at</strong>i<strong>on</strong> by Ku-ring-gai Council or the NSW Heritage<br />

Council; and<br />

<strong>at</strong> the appropri<strong>at</strong>e time, make submissi<strong>on</strong>s pursuant <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> s.33(1) <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Heritage<br />

Act opposing the listing."<br />

have a site inspecti<strong>on</strong>.<br />
