Occurrence of behavioural disorders in domestic cats 19 females, either intact or spayed, than in males (V = 0.221). Also living conditions were of distinct influence (V = = 0.191). Cats kept permanently indoor were less likely to attack other animals, yet the more they were allowed out, the more common were aggression cases. It can be assumed that cats roaming at large often gain bad experiences in contacts with other animals, mostly dogs, and in result aggression towards them develops. Statistical analysis did not confirm relation between age and aggression towards other animals. Nevertheless, as shown in Table 4, aggression was less common in young cats – only 2 cases in cats under 2 years of age, and more common in cats over 8 years. No influence of origin was confirmed statistically, yet aggression towards other animals was two times more common in cats born, reared and living in one, permanent home (20%), than in other cats. This aggression was dramatically common in cats, purchased/adopted before they were 2 months old, whereas it was twice less common in those purchased/ /adopted in older age. This difference, albeit striking, could not be statistically confirmed. Other factors, including presence of other animals in households, did not significantly influence aggression towards other pets. Destructive behaviors Destructive behaviours were reported in 22 cats, i.e. 8% of total population studied. No particular influence could be statistically confirmed. However, some differences were found both in frequency of the behaviours and their percentage in different groups (Tab. 5). Destructive behaviours were least frequent in intact males (Tab. 5).
