Welcome
to the SIAS Resource folder
These folders are designed to facilitate the delivery of
SIAS workshops by providing demonstrators, teachers
and students with all of the resources needed.
All folders contain:
• Introductory material for each spectroscopic technique
which has been written by teachers to ensure alignment
with current school curricula.
• A series of workshops which introduce the application of
each spectroscopic technique, providing background
information, and step-by-step instructions and questions.
For demonstrators and teachers:
The teachers’ folder contains introductory material for each
spectroscopic technique along with setup up instructions
for the Infra-red and Ultraviolet spectrometers.
In addition each workshop contains:
• Materials list
• Answer sheets (signified by P ) which are to be photocopied
and handed out to students
• Model answers
• Model spectra
