• It is also widely used <strong>in</strong> veter<strong>in</strong>ary medic<strong>in</strong>e as<br />
an anesthetic.<br />
• It is a chiral compound and exists as two enantiomers,<br />
the (S) enantiomer be<strong>in</strong>g more active.<br />
• Deaths have been attributed to ketam<strong>in</strong>e due to<br />
chock<strong>in</strong>g, vomit<strong>in</strong>g and overheat<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
