Reported breastfeeding rates for children overall were 5.6% in ROI and 7.1% in NI and again there is no<br />

variability according to age group and sex.<br />

In ROI 90.3% and in NI 97.3% <strong>of</strong> children were reported as having no ongoing health problem.<br />

The number 1 reported condition was asthma, which accounted for 71.9% <strong>of</strong> children with health<br />

problems in ROI. There were much lower rates reported for other conditions, including inborn errors <strong>of</strong><br />

metabolism. The pattern was similar for both male and female children and asthma was the number<br />

one condition in each age group, though cerebral palsy was proportionately higher in 14-year olds.<br />
