Specifically considering cardiovascular risk factors, the excess burden <strong>of</strong> cardiovascular morbidity<br />

noted is also reflected in an excess <strong>of</strong> cardiovascular risk factors seen in the <strong>Traveller</strong> group, as<br />

compared with the SLAN 2002 medical card holders. For those <strong>Traveller</strong>s who had their blood pressure<br />

and/or cholesterol checked in the last year, the number with a high level detected was overall higher<br />

than the number within SLAN 2002 and 2007 who reported having a high reading checked (Table 255).<br />

However, with respect to the unscreened <strong>Traveller</strong> population, clearly the true prevalence <strong>of</strong><br />

these conditions is not known.<br />
