The data items from which these measurements are derived vary between the studies. For the AITHS, the
numbers presented are the persons who reported having undergone screening in the last 12 months and who
received a diagnosis of high blood pressure or high cholesterol, and these numbers are then presented as a
percentage of all AITHS respondents in that age group. For SLAN 2002, the numbers presented represent the
persons who reported doctor diagnosed high blood pressure or cholesterol at any time. For SLAN 2007, the
numbers presented represent the persons who reported doctor diagnosed high blood pressure or cholesterol in
the last 12 months.
