A third of respondents in ROI (31.3%) and 39.9% in NI were on some form of prescribed medication,
rising in graduated manner to 77.9% of those 65 years and older in ROI. In NI the rise was even steeper,
applying to 82.1% of those over 45 years old.

Difficulties reading instructions in ROI were reported in just under half of cases, with women (43.8%)
having less difficulty than men (51.7%). In NI difficulties were higher overall (62.6%), and again men
(69.6%) had more of a problem than women (57.0%).
