BlackPearl -CAM (Calmodulin)
Affinity matrix with Calmodulin covalently coupled to
BlackPearl magnetic beads. For affinity purification
of calmodulin-binding proteins including calmodulinregulated
proteins in eukaryotic cells and recombinant
proteins containing calmodulin-binding peptide fusion
tag. Supplied as a suspension in 0.5 M NaCl.

BlackPearl-L (Wheat Germ Lectin)
Wheat germ lectin (from Triticum vulgaris) conjugated
to BlackPearl Magnetic Beads. Wheat germ agglutinin
is a 36,000 molecular weight protein consisting
of two identical subunits. The receptor sugar for WGA
is N-acetylglucosamine, with preferential binding to
dimers and trimers of this sugar. WGA can bind oligosaccharides
containing terminal N-acetylglucosamine
or chitobiose, structures which are common to many
serum and membrane glycoproteins. Bacterial cell wall
peptidoglycans, chitin, cartilage glycosaminoglycans
and glycolipids can also bind WGA.
• Inhibiting/Eluting Sugar: 500mM N-acetylglucosamine,
Chitin Hydrolysate, or 100 mM acetic acid
• Ligand: 2 mg lectin/ml gel

BlackPearl-A (Protein-A)
An affinity matrix ideal for isolation and purification
of immunoglobins on a small scale. Black
Pearl-A magnetic beads consist of recombinant
Protein A covalently coupled to BlackPearl.
Protein A has a high affinity for subclasses of
IgG from a variety of species, including human,
rabbit, mouse and sheep. The matrix can be
regenerated up to 6 times with minimal loss of
binding capacity. It can be used to immunoprecipitate
target proteins from crude cell lysates
using a selected primary antibody. Specific antibodies
can be covalently cross-linked to the Black
Pearl-A surface to create a reusable immunoprecipitation
bead, thus avoiding the coelution
of antibody with the target antigen.

BlackPearl-G (Protein-G)
BioWorld BlackPearl-G Magnetic beads are
prepared by covalent immobilization of Protein-
G (from Streptococcus sp.) by CNBr activation
coupling. Protein G shows strong binding affinity
to the Fc region of several classes of mammalian
immunoglobulins. BlackPearl-G has
been used as a reliable tool to purify monoclonal
and polyclonal IgGs from ascites, serum and
cell culture supernatants. It is an ideal choice for
affinity purification and/or fractionation of IgG
subclasses which bind poorly to Protein-A such
as bovine, goat, rat, and sheep IgG. Supplied as
suspension in 100 mM Tris·Cl, pH 8.0, 500 mM
NaCl, 0.05 % NaN 3 and 0.02 % thimerosal.
