Taxi 4 Hour Continuing Education<br />
Workshop<br />
Before your first year probationary taxi driver's license<br />
expires, you are required to attend and complete a<br />
four hour course that includes an update of rule changes,<br />
a review of driver responsibilities and duties,<br />
driver passenger relations and awareness of serving<br />
passengers with disabilities. (This workshop satisfies<br />
TLC Rule # 2 11a)<br />

English for Taxi Drivers<br />
Learn the necessary language skills to pass the English<br />
portion of the TLC Exam. You will focus on listening and<br />
reading comprehension as well as writing, with an<br />
emphasis on spelling New York City geographical<br />
locations. You will also have opportunities to practice<br />
multiple choice tests in a structure that is similar to the<br />
official TLC English Taxi Exam.<br />
Every other Thursday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm<br />
(1 session/4 hours) $29<br />
Get additional support from the Taxi and FHV Driver Institute!<br />
These courses can prepare you more thoroughly for the TLC Exam and provide you with the detailed geographical<br />
information you need to earn more money as a taxi driver. You can choose one, or any combination of courses. Students<br />
in the 24 Hour Class enrolled in 3 additional full day (8 hours/session) courses have unlimited access to all NYC Taxi and<br />
FHV Driver Institute courses at no extra charge.<br />
Outer Boroughs Geography Part I<br />
Emphasis on Brooklyn & Queens<br />
Study the geography of the 4 outer boroughs, with an<br />
emphasis on Brooklyn and Queens. Explore major<br />
thoroughfares and water crossings that connect to<br />
Manhattan, and learn how to use a five borough indexed<br />
atlas to reinforce map reading skills for the TLC Exam.<br />
Discover similarities and differences of the outer<br />
boroughs to help give you a better understanding of<br />
these areas.<br />
