Come to information and assessment sessions in room C-203. You will take a reading pre placement test. If you qualify, you must then take the five GED predictor tests. If you've taken<br />

GED Bridge to <strong>College</strong> for Deaf<br />
Adults<br />
For Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults who are able to read<br />
and write in English at the seventh grade level, and solve<br />
basic arithmetic functions and word problems. Advance<br />
your reading and writing skills in the context of the<br />
subject areas covered by the GED exam (social studies,<br />
science, language arts, reading and writing). You will also<br />
focus on the following areas of GED Mathematics:<br />
probability, ratio and proportion, percents,<br />
measurements, graphs and tables, basics of algebra,<br />
geometry, special topics in algebra and geometry, and<br />
word problems.<br />

Individual Instruction<br />
One to one instruction is provided to Deaf, Deaf Blind,<br />
Hard of Hearing, and late deafened adults to assist them<br />
in all educational needs, such as Regent's Competency<br />
Exam Preparation; ASL for Deaf International Students;<br />
specific academic needs; and American Citizenship<br />
preparation. An interview and diagnostic assessment<br />
of needs and goals might be given. An individualized<br />
program with dates will be arranged upon full payment.<br />

Introduction to Algebra<br />
(Dual Access)<br />
This course has a problem solving approach that<br />
emphasizes the importance of mathematical reasoning<br />
in addressing real world problems drawn from diverse<br />
disciplines. Topics include arithmetic (signed numbers,<br />
fractions, decimals and percents), elementary algebra<br />
(solving first degree equations and inequalities, rules of<br />
exponents, equations of lines) and basics of geometry<br />
(area of perimeter) as well as numeracy (estimation, unit<br />
analysis). The course is intended for students with little<br />
or no algebra background.<br />
