for Deaf Adults<br />
Come to information and assessment sessions in room C 203. You will take<br />
a reading pre placement test. If you qualify, you must then take the five GED<br />
predictor tests. If you've taken the GED exam before, please bring your old<br />
scores.<br />

GED Bridge to <strong>College</strong> for Deaf Adults<br />
For Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults who are able to read and write in English<br />
at the seventh grade level, and solve basic arithmetic functions and word<br />
problems. Advance your reading and writing skills in the context of the subject<br />
areas covered by the GED exam (social studies, science, language arts, reading<br />
and writing). You will also focus on the following areas of GED Mathematics:<br />
probability, ratio and proportion, percents, measurements, graphs and tables,<br />
basics of algebra, geometry, special topics in algebra and geometry, and word<br />
problems.<br />

Introduction to Algebra (Dual Access)<br />
This course has a problem solving approach that emphasizes the importance of<br />
mathematical reasoning in addressing real world problems drawn from diverse<br />
disciplines. Topics include arithmetic (signed numbers, fractions, decimals and<br />
percents), elementary algebra (solving first degree equations and inequalities,<br />
rules of exponents, equations of lines) and basics of geometry (area of<br />
perimeter) as well as numeracy (estimation, unit analysis). The course is<br />
intended for students with little or no algebra background.<br />
