They take advantage of world literature and have
contacts with various research and experimental
centres. They can talk to professors – even with
those from foreign universities – and, above all,
with their men in the barn, piggery or hen house.
I can refer to our agrotechnicians and processing
technologists with the same words. This is where
our successes lie”.
The cooperative Agronomic Witkowo has been
recognized as the most important food producing
plant in Poland for many years. According to
the statistics, it produces the most healthy and
genuine food. It is located within nearly 13 thousand
hectares (including 10.7 thousand of own
hectares) where it operates in an intensive and
modern manner, respecting the environmental
requirements.
“The philosophy of our operations can be described
by the motto: ‘From field to table’ ”, explains
President Ilnicki. “This is why we strive for
selling all fruits of the earth merely in the processed
form, in our own network of more than
70 mini markets. We have very good processing
facilities. The grain warehouses, fully automated
feed blending plant, where the feed for
cattle, swine and poultry is produced are one of
the most modern in the country. We posses also
our own slaughterhouse and meat processing
plant. Our breeding and animal production has
been organized in such a manner as to enable us
to work independently. Therefore, we have our
own chicken hatchery, laying hens and broilers.
We produce, in a closed cycle, 60 thousand fatteners.
However, in order not to shock with large
number, I would like to add that, in our cooperative
shops, we sell, every day, 25 thousand kg of
poultry, 10 thousand kg of pork, 1.5 thousand kg
of beef, 16 thousand kg of delicious cold meat,
116 thousand eggs and nearly 65 thousand liters
of milk. This is all produced by us”. The “From field
to table” motto is being implemented under the
supervision of veterinary and zootechnician services,
respecting all technological requirements.
