The <strong>National</strong> <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> has a<br />

variety of educational and cultural programs planned for 2012.<br />

• Applications for The Ambassador Peter F. Secchia Voyage<br />

of Discovery Program can be submitted starting in early<br />

• Applications for The NIAF Student Scholarship Program,<br />

awarding scholarships to outstanding students, are available<br />

• Applications for <strong>Italian</strong> Language Study Grants,<br />

helping create or expand the teaching of <strong>Italian</strong><br />

language, will be available at the end of March 2012.<br />

• Applications for NIAF’s Culture and Heritage Grant<br />

Awards, which help organizations and individuals<br />

promote, preserve or add to <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong> culture<br />

and history, will be available at the end of March 2012.<br />

• The <strong>Italian</strong> Language and Culture Teacher of the Year<br />

Award recognizes an outstanding educator in <strong>Italian</strong><br />

language and culture. Applications will be available<br />

in December 2011 and can be found at www.niaf.org/<br />

programs/teacheroftheyear.<br />

• The John R. Mott <strong>Foundation</strong> Scholarship provides scholarships<br />

to <strong>Italian</strong> citizens. Applications will be available<br />

in January 2012. Please visit www.mottscholarship.org/<br />

• The NIAF Graduates to Leaders Workshop introduces<br />

college students to successful <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong>s, who<br />

offer advice on achieving their professional goals.<br />

Applications will be available in early March 2012 at<br />

• The NIAF Students to Leaders Workshop introduces<br />

future <strong>Italian</strong> language educators in the United States.<br />

Applications are available in early July 2012 at www.<br />

• The Anthony Campitelli Endowed Fund supports various<br />

humanitarian and community projects in Italy. Applications<br />

will be available at the end of July 2012 at www.<br />

niaf.org/campitellifund.<br />

• The NIAF Youth Gala offers youth special seating within<br />

NIAF’s Anniversary Gala, along with other weekend<br />

events and entertainment! The gala is held yearly at<br />

the end of October; tickets will be available for sale<br />

• The Eleanor and Anthony DeFrancis Scholarship Fund<br />

gives scholarships to <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong>s studying pure<br />
