NIAF’s print and online publications not only convey important<br />
information about our work, they also bring <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong> culture<br />
and a feeling of community to our supporters around the world.<br />
Tonight we are proud to showcase some of those publications.<br />
Ambassador Magazine<br />

Founded in 1985, Ambassador magazine is glossy, full-color publication produced<br />
three times a year by the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> (NIAF) for<br />
distribution to members, affiliate organizations, universities, libraries and other<br />
cultural and heritage-based groups.<br />
As its name implies, the magazine functions as an “ambassador” for both <strong>Italian</strong><br />
<strong>American</strong> culture and the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong>. Ambassador<br />
furthers NIAF’s commitment to heritage with insightful, original articles about<br />
topics such as <strong>Foundation</strong> programs, <strong>Italian</strong>-made products, films, recipes, travel<br />
and the accomplishments of fellow <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong>s.<br />
Our most recent issue, published in Fall 2011, features articles on the Risorgimento<br />
and Italy’s Arts, Rejuvenating America’s Little Italys, a new book on Joe DiMaggio<br />
and the legacy of <strong>Italian</strong> <strong>American</strong> baseball players, and a retrospective on the<br />
Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and 9/11. In addition, it previews our 36th<br />
Anniversary Gala.<br />

The NIAF e-newsletter continues to grow both in size and popularity, now<br />
reaching more 50,000 NIAF members, supporters and others whose have<br />
registered through the NIAF Web site.<br />
An extended monthly e-newsletter that is emailed the first weekday of each<br />
month, it alerts readers to upcoming NIAF events, board and council news,<br />
and other member news of interest. Each partial item in the email version<br />
links directly to the full news item online at NIAF’s website. The monthly<br />
E-News also promotes a featured NIAF sponsor offering exclusive disccounts<br />
to NIAF members<br />
