Portable tanks manufactured before 1 July 2016 need not be marked<br />
with the portable tank instruction as required in 6.7.2.20.2,<br />
6.7.3.16.2 and 6.7.4.15.2 until the next periodic inspection and test.<br />
Portable tanks and MECGs manufactured before 1 July 2016 need<br />
not comply with the requirements of 6.7.2.13.1 (f), 6.7.3.9.1 (e),<br />
6.7.4.8.1 (e) and 6.7.5.6.1 (d) concerning the marking of the pressure<br />
relief devices.<br />
4.3.1.1 After the description of the meaning of BK1 and BK2, insert:<br />
"BK3: the transport in flexible bulk containers is permitted".<br />
Add a new 4.3.1.16 to read as follows:<br />
"4.3.1.16 Before a flexible bulk container is filled it must be visually<br />
examined to ensure it is structurally serviceable, its textile slings, loadbearing<br />
structure straps, body fabric, lock device parts including metal<br />
and textile parts are free from protrusions or damage and that inner<br />
liners are free from rips, tears or any damage.<br />
4.3.1.16.1 For flexible bulk containers, the period of use permitted for<br />
the transport of dangerous goods must be two years from the date of<br />
manufacture of the flexible bulk container.<br />
4.3.1.16.2 A venting device must be fitted if a dangerous accumulation<br />
of gases may develop within the flexible bulk container. The vent must<br />
be so designed that the penetration of foreign substances is prevented<br />
under normal conditions of transport.<br />
4.3.2.2 Insert "and flexible bulk containers (code BK3)" after "(code BK2)".<br />
At the end, replace "watertight" with "waterproof".<br />

Chapter 5.2<br />
5.2.1.1 Insert the following new second sentence: "The UN number and the<br />
letters "UN" must be at least 12 mm high, except for packagings of<br />
30 litres or 30 kg capacity or less, when they must be at least 6 mm<br />
in height and for packagings of 5 litres or 5 kg or less when they<br />
must be of an appropriate size.".<br />

At the end, add the following new note:<br />
"NOTE: The size requirements for the UN number marking apply as<br />
from 1 July 2016.".<br />
