User Interface Infrastructure User Interface Infrastructure The Ocean API does not limit itself to accessing the Data domain of Petrel. It also provides a rich environment for integrating the Ocean Module with the graphic environment familiar to Petrel users. The User Interface API provides functionality to customize many elements of the Petrel window system. Fig. 2-9 User Interface The Ocean API exposes a series of UI elements of the Petrel Product Family, in order for the GUI to be tailored to the needs of new applications. Ocean integrates a custom module with the other applications in the product family, it exposes via the API the data domain instances in the project and finally it gives the developer a handle on all the graphic tools and canvases of that product family for a seamless integration between the commercial product and proprietary processing.
