Overview Petrel has more than 30 worksteps for common reservoir modeling tasks like making zones, scaling up well logs, and performing petrophysical modeling. A workstep will be available regardless of the current Petrel project. Workflow A workflow is a sequence of processing and other steps that together perform a task within Petrel. Workflows help end users get their jobs done correctly and efficiently: • They reduce errors. An expert can create a workflow for other end users to run insuring all end users follow the same steps within Petrel. • They save time. Overview An example workflow is the Rebuild Gullfaks Final workflow from the Gullfaks demo project. It rebuilds the reservoir model after additional input data is available. Its steps are: Fig. 6-5 Workflow to Rebuild the Gullfaks Model The above workflow has 9 steps; it would be painful to repeat the steps manually every time new data became available. Combining the steps into a workflow makes it easy to apply them and also guarantees they run in the right order with the correct data every time.
