Process
Processes may be purely interactive, may be purely algorithmic, or may be a combination.
An interactive process might require the end user to select data on the screen or
manipulate data in space, like creating a point set from a series of mouse clicks. An
algorithmic process would require the end user to enter some inputs and maybe outputs
and then run a computation, like creating a borehole with a well trajectory from an
existing point set.

Petrel has more than 40 built-in processes for common reservoir modeling tasks like
making zones, scaling up well logs, and performing petrophysical modeling. These native
Petrel processes are operations the end user performs to build the Petrel model.
