The victim had told the SI that he would leave the police station only when he gave him the reason for
arresting his client. The SI was annoyed and had slapped the victim. Then the SI had threatened to file
him under a false case. So the victim Selvam had told the police that he too would file a case against him
and had left the police station.

Case Details:
The victim Vengaiyan was a resident of Muniandipuram and he belonged to Kal Ottar Community. He
had resided at a rented house and the owner of the house was an old lady. The ear ornaments of the
lady were stolen and she had given a complaint to the police. The police had suspected the victim and
had called him for inquiry.
When the victim Vengaiyan had gone to the police station, the police had dragged him to the cell and
had asked him to tell the truth. The Inspector had threatened to file him under a false case if he failed to
confess. The victim Vengaiyan had promised the police that he had not involved in the theft. The next
day, the police had again conducted inquiry and had released him.

The victim Bommi was a resident of Ponniahpuram and the Kal-Ottar families have resided at that area.
The Head Constable had often visited them and had received money. On 2 nd July, 2008 he had gone to
the victim’s house and had slapped her on her face and kicked her chest without any reason.
Prior to the incident, the Head Constable had asked the victim’s husband if he had known Ayara. The
victim’s husband had told the police that he did not know her. Immediately, the victim Bommi had told him
that she knew her house. So the Head Constable had beaten her husband near his eyes and had asked
him if he had tried to fool him. He had often filed false cases against the Kal-Ottar and had arrested him.
