The other tHo Jumpers occupied the I'hanglngrrand "doorr,positlons. 0eceased was observed z-ing from cxlt until approximately 5000, (lhe problem, from this posltion, that she was working on.) at which tlme shc was stable and below a two man involvlng the photographer. The two man broke and the photographer plnned deceased. The formatlon dld not bul ld beyond the second tHo man. The other two junpers continued to attcmpt closing untll 1000r, at which tiner they tracked. Thcse two Junpers ttatcd deceased was out of the iwo man and f lat and srable at 3000r. fhc photographer also sald that deceased was alert, f lat, and stable when he tracked from her at lOOOr. 0eceased was found. at the point of impact, lying face down with both arms ou!streached. Further' the reserve riocord cable was bent and f rayed where it matched up with the hdrness end of the cable housing. The harness tacking was also hroken f rom the cable housing. Thc preponderance of evl,lcnce concludes that deceased did not pull her reserve ripco(d and the canoPY was deployed .s a result of the force of inpact. lt ls Incxplicablc why deceascd both falled to deploy h,r maln or pull her reserve ripcord. 5he was not an unacconpl tshed Jumper although she experienced typical progressi,)n related problen: as a freefall and n|J student. She ',as personable. intelligent, well likctl , and ottracted friends easlly. She was not known to use druqs. 0eceascd dld not appcar to l)Jve suffered any dlsahiling or disorienrlng erit or nV rclated problems. Unless she experienced an Inpessltrle pull situation on her rcscrve rlpcord pull {which there ls no evldence of ), il must bc assumed that she nadc no attempt to actlvale hcr auxilliary porachutc, trlually. lt can bc presumcd that shc made some attempt to deploy her main, An Inspection of the hand deploy pouch, at the scene, revealed no unusual extraction forces nccessary to puli the pllot chute. Suggestions that she lost conciousncss, fell to impact walting for her plcture to be takenr or violently pulleJ the pllot chute pouch fron her rig attempring deployment, while possible, do not parallel known inf ormation about deceascd or her equlpment. For whatever reason, dcceased probably experlenced a main deployment problem and neithcr overcame it or used her reserve prlor to inpact.. Becommendalions The nature of the accident precludes cut dnd arl.a ,otrll-o.s. Deceased received good training and supervlsion, and Jumped state_of_ the-art equipment.
