General Site Issues<br />

Conduct site induction training <strong>for</strong> all personnel to alert <strong>the</strong>m to<br />

sensitive work areas, explain <strong>the</strong> requirements <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> EMP, outline<br />

an individual’s responsibilities and in<strong>for</strong>m all workers <strong>of</strong> emergency<br />

response procedures. Documented evidence <strong>of</strong> such training is to<br />

be available be<strong>for</strong>e commencing work on-site.<br />

Ensure all operations are undertaken in accordance with <strong>the</strong><br />

Environment Protection Licence (EPL) obtained under <strong>the</strong><br />

provisions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Protection <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Environment Operations Act<br />

1997.<br />

Ensure emergency procedures are displayed in a prominent<br />

position within <strong>the</strong> site working area.<br />

Allocate a person <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> dissemination <strong>of</strong> general in<strong>for</strong>mation on<br />

<strong>the</strong> site operations. Identify a contact person(s) and contact<br />

numbers <strong>for</strong> receiving comments or complaints from <strong>the</strong><br />

community.<br />

Establish a register <strong>of</strong> complaints be<strong>for</strong>e work commences and<br />

maintain <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> full duration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> work. The register shall record<br />

details <strong>of</strong> complaints, complainant contact in<strong>for</strong>mation and action<br />

taken to address complaints.<br />

Conduct audits <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> EMP at least once a month. These will<br />

involve reviewing all documents, records and monitoring results to<br />

ensure compliance with <strong>the</strong> EMP.<br />

Indigenous Heritage<br />

If any Aboriginal archaeological sites or artefacts are discovered<br />

during <strong>the</strong> works, ensure work ceases immediately in <strong>the</strong> vicinity<br />

and that <strong>the</strong> DEC is contacted <strong>for</strong> fur<strong>the</strong>r advice and action.<br />
