A site or project specific plan developed to ensure<br />

that appropriate environmental management<br />

practices are followed during <strong>the</strong> operation phase<br />

<strong>of</strong> a project.<br />

Company, corporation, firm, enterprise, authority<br />

or institution, or part or combination <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong>,<br />

whe<strong>the</strong>r incorporated or not, public or private, that<br />

has its own functions and administration.<br />

Term used in this document to refer to any design,<br />

construction or operation activity associated with a<br />

development under Part 4 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Environmental</strong><br />

Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (<strong>the</strong> Act) or<br />

an activity under Part 5 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Act.<br />

For <strong>the</strong> purposes <strong>of</strong> this EMP <strong>Guideline</strong><br />

‘proponent’ is used to refer to both an applicant <strong>for</strong><br />

a development application under Part 4 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Environmental</strong> Planning and Assessment Act<br />

1979 (<strong>the</strong> Act) and also a proponent <strong>for</strong> an activity<br />

under Part 5 <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Act<br />
