QASK HIM
ANYTHING
Love advice from our guy
guru, Andy McBride
Is it possible to
go from friend
zone to romance
with one of your
guy friends if you
have only ever
been platonic. If
so, how do you
do it?
A. I’m sure the majority of us
have been in this situation where
you start to develop feelings for a
friend. Depending on the depth of
your friendship, it may be as simple
as just being straight up and
asking him if he would consider
going on a date with you. If you
aren’t that close of friends then I
would recommend trying a group
outing first so it’s not awkward
and try to make it a point to spend
more time with him than you
normally would and then you can
follow up with a text saying that
you had a lot of fun and that you
two should do something together
sometime with no one else. The
worst that can happen is he won’t
feel the same way towards you and
only like you as a friend, in which
case at least you’ll know for sure
and it shouldn’t make it weird between
you two since you’ve been
friends from the start. And who
knows, he may feel the same way
towards you and hasn’t wanted to
say anything out of fear of losing
your friendship. I’ve personally
known a few relationships that got
started that way and they are still
together. Just remember: You’ll
never know if you don’t try!
