New method of creating a buttonhole • Dr. Shigeki Toma published his experience with creating buttonhole tunnel using polypropylene peg. He claims that his method is suitable also for grafts. The peg is short enough so that its tip does not reach the access vessel wall. After withdrawing a puncture needle and stopping bleeding at the end of HD, the peg is thrust toward the access vessel along the path of the puncture needle just removed.
