FAST PITCH OPERATING RULES<br />

ARTICLE I.<br />

GENERAL<br />

A. <strong>Softball</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> uses the <strong>Softball</strong> Canada Official Guide and<br />

Rule Book for its interpretation in playing the game of <strong>Softball</strong>.<br />

Modifications to the official rules as stated herein take precedence over<br />

those in the <strong>Softball</strong> Canada Rule Book. Specific League rulings take<br />

precedent for League play in regards to;<br />

i. Game variances, the use of batting, running, pitching,<br />

etc.<br />

B. All affiliated Leagues, Associations and teams will have complete<br />

charge over their own operations and business, except;<br />

i. In the case of a dispute, where any affiliated League,<br />

Association or team shall have the privilege of appealing to<br />

<strong>Softball</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> in writing through their respective<br />

League or Association following the Appeal procedures<br />

outlined in the Operating Rules.<br />

ii. In the case of Provincial Championships which are governed<br />

by <strong>Softball</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong>.<br />

ARTICLE II.<br />

DEFINITIONS<br />

A. LEAGUES that apply for membership will have all rights allotted by<br />

<strong>Softball</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong>. Leagues must have at least four (4) teams and<br />

a League Executive to be eligible for admission to <strong>Softball</strong><br />

<strong>Saskatchewan</strong>.<br />

B. ASSOCIATIONS that apply for membership will have all rights<br />

allotted by <strong>Softball</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong>. A <strong>Softball</strong> Association must have at<br />

least two (2) or more recognized divisions (U10 and U12) in operation<br />

to be eligible for admission to <strong>Softball</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong>.<br />

C. TEAMS that apply for membership will have all rights allotted by<br />

<strong>Softball</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong> and the privilege to apply to register for<br />

Provincial Championships. Individual Teams must demonstrate that<br />

no League exists in their area in order to be accepted and approved for<br />

membership.<br />

D. UMPIRE ASSOCIATIONS will qualify for membership into <strong>Softball</strong><br />

<strong>Saskatchewan</strong> if they have 10 or more registered umpires in their<br />

Association.<br />

E. SOFTBALL CENTRE is a City or Town who has affiliated their<br />

League or Association with <strong>Softball</strong> <strong>Saskatchewan</strong>.<br />
