19 th International Symposium on Space Terahertz Technology Registration INFORMATION On Sunday, 27 April, from 17:00 to 20:00, a registration reception will be held at Café Mr. Mofongo (about 50m to the right of the conference venue main entrance, see map). Registration is also possible starting at 8:00 on each symposium day in the entrance hall of the University main building (see below). Symposium Venue The symposium is held in the main building of the University of Groningen (the "Academiegebouw" or “Academy building”), Broerstraat 5, 9712 CP Groningen, at the “Geertsemaazaal” lecture hall, 3rd floor. The Academy building is in the very city center and within walking distance of the city center hotels. It was built in 1909 in the Northern Netherlands Renaissance style on the same terrain where in 1614 the University’s first Academy building was erected. Oral presentations All oral presentation will be held in the Geertsemazaal, Academy building, University of Groningen, Broerstraat 5, 3 rd floor. Invited talks are allocated 20 min plus 5 min for questions, contributed talks are allocated 12 min plus 3 min for questions. Presentations must be horizontal in .ppt (much preferred) or .pdf format. Please embed the fonts when saving the file to avoid formatting problems. Please upload your presentation not later than 25 April. (Speakers receive separate instructions via email). The conference hall has 266 seats - please do not choose the font size too small. A beamer and a Windows PC (with MS Powerpoint and Adobe 4

Poster presentations The poster session and lunch breaks will be held in the Bruynzaal and Spiegelzaal on the ground floor next to the main entrance of the Academy building. Poster board size is 1 m (width) x 2 m (height). We recommend posters using A0 (or similar) paper size (~ 0,84 m x 1,2 m). Posters can be set up starting Monday 28 April 10:00 and can remain on display until Wednesday 30 April 17:00. A poster session and reception will be held on Monday 28 April 18:00. The reception is offered jointly by the Province of Groningen, the City of Groningen and the University of Groningen. Paper submission for the Proceedings Proceedings containing the conference papers will be published. Deadline for electronic paper submission is 1 June 2008. Each paper can have max. 10 pages. Instructions for paper submission will be made available at the symposium and on the symposium web site. Lunch, poster reception, symposium dinner Lunch on the three conference days is included in the registration fee and will be served next to the poster area in the Bruynzaal and Spiegelzaal on the ground floor (close to the main entrance of the Academy building). On Monday, 28 April 18:00, a poster session will be held and a reception will be offered by the Province of Groningen, the City of Groningen, and the University of Groningen. Conference greetings will be given by Prof. Frans Zwarts, Rector Magnificus, University of Groningen, and Prof. Karel Wakker, Director SRON. On Tuesday, 29 April, the symposium dinner will take place in a small village outside Groningen. Bus transport will be provided leaving from the central square (Grote Markt) at 18:00 (see map). Registered participants A list of registered participants is given at the end of this book. Visit to SRON Groningen labs On Thursday, 1 May, a visit to the SRON laboratories in Groningen will be organized. Please contact W. Wild if you are interested. 5
