1 Summary of the marine casualty<br />
At about 0018 1 on the morning of 15 September 2009, a very serious marine casualty<br />
occurred on board the full container vessel CCNI GUAYAS, which was sailing under<br />
the German flag. During the accident, the 36-year-old Latvian third officer fell and lost<br />
his life on board the vessel at 0500.<br />
