“At the moment we are almost
completing phase one of packaging this
product for Zimbabwe,” she said sounding

Not even the recent mugging has killed
her spirit or changed the love of her
country.
“I was robbed, smashed, left scarred
and I was really shaken considering I was
alone that night and other things have
happened but Zimbabwe is a beautiful
country we should all be ambassadors
of our country and culture, I’m one such
person. No place in the world is perfect,”
she points out.
music,
starting as an RnB artiste to become an
Afro Fusion singer over the years.
She gets emotional when talking about
her mother’s untimely death and how it
signaled the change of her music from
RnB to Afro fusion and how she perceives
life when her mother was still alive.
“It was such a shock to lose my mum
and two days after her burial, I went
into the studio with Joseph Madzivire
of Zimpraise and we recorded the track
“Zuva Rimwe” and “Hatina Musha
Panyika” (on the album-The Songs My
Mother loved).
“It was the beginning of a new
direction for my music, if you listen to the
last song called ‘Going In’, that I recorded
before my mother passed away, it was
totally RnB,” a somber atmosphere
engulfed
the place as she
narrated her story.
“I was in such pain as I
went into the studio and

singing from my heart.
All this time my songs
were all about party
songs and having fun.

sang something I
meant.
“After that I
realised that this
is the sound for
Cynthia Mare this
is how I discovered
myself the person
that you see today,
the Afro fusion
singer that I am
today. I call my
music Afro fusion
because it is not
limited to a certain
genre it is a fusion of
genre/sounds. ”
words were due to the fact that I never
managed to talk to my mum again
because when I arrived from the UK she

singing in Shona before that I sang in
English,” added Mare.
The soulful singer revealed her
thoughts on going into the future.
“I have got a lot of materials which I’m
always writing so there is going to be a lot
of music coming,” she assures her fans.
Cynthia recently landed an
endorsement deal to become the G Tel
brand ambassador and she is in the midst
of talks with more companies she could
team up with.
“I became the ambassador of G Tel
in May this year, they saw my potential
and that I could bring something to the
table. I’m a person with good ideas and
very passionate about what I do and
I have joined the G tel team as a brand
ambassador,” said Mare.
Besides her enviable music talent,
the talented beauty has taken the small
screen by storm. She landed a presenting
job on Zimbabwe’s popular music show,
Coke On The Beat.
Mare says she is enjoying every part of
it and it didn’t take time to adjust.
“I love talking, so Coke On The Beat
is a great opportunity for me to talk to
people and share music, it’s fantastic for
me. There are no challenges in adjusting
as in music I’m on stage, do videos and
interviews. It’s just switching roles and
I’m now the one interviewing musicians,

In addition to watching her on Coke On
The Beat, her fans will be treated to the
upcoming project which will be released
later if all goes according to plan. Mare
