Section III. MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES<br />

3-3. OPERATOR MAINTENANCE.<br />

Operator maintenance is limited to inspection and repair of room liner fabric components, and replacing hose<br />

adapter and filter adapter gaskets.<br />

a. Inspecting. Inspect components of the SCPE as described in PMCS (para 2-5).<br />

b. Repairing. Room liners, PE fabric, ECU adapter duct and air duct hoses can be restored to operating condition<br />

using tape from accessory package.<br />

To repair straight tears on room liner, ECU adapter duct and PE fabric.<br />

NOTE<br />

Silicone is applied to the zippers to permit easier opening and closing. The repair tape will not<br />

stick to areas covered with silicone.<br />

(1) If the area to be repaired is near the zippers use alcohol (Item 1, App D) and a wiping rag (Item <strong>10</strong>, App D)<br />

to clean surface prior to taping.<br />

(2) Cut or tear a strip of tape (Item 12, App D), stored in the accessory package, approximately 4 inches<br />

longer than damaged area.<br />

(3) Position tape over damaged area, pressing firmly in place from top to bottom.<br />

(4) Use cross strips of tape for added strength.<br />

To repair corner cuts or punctures on room liners, ECU adapter duct, and PE fabric.<br />

(1) Using pocket knife, (Item 6, App D) cut repair material, located in accessory package, large enough to<br />

cover damaged area.<br />

(2) Cut or tear a strip of tape approximately 4 inches longer than patch.<br />

(3) Position patch on damaged area and firmly press tape around the edges.<br />
