! Peripheries well defined (minimum of voids; showing muscle and frenal<br />

! Accurate recording of the retromolar pads, retromylohyoid area, post palatal seal<br />

! Material properly mixed as indicated by impressions<br />

! Trays properly selected and centered over the ridges<br />

! Tray stays in place at rest and during slight manipulation of tissues<br />

! Flange thickness generally no greater than 4-5 mm (unless severely resorbed)<br />
! Patient feels no areas of discomfort<br />
! Posterior palatal seal is properly covered<br />

! Flanges smooth, continuous; rolled and not sharp
