The Office of the Emergency Services Commissioner provides independent, objective and strategic policy<br />

advice on emergency services to the Minister <strong>for</strong> Police and Emergency Services and the Department of Justice<br />

Executive. The Emergency Services Commissioner is also responsible <strong>for</strong> supporting the Minister <strong>for</strong> Police and<br />

Emergency Services as Co-ordinator in Chief of Emergency Management, and chair of the <strong>Victoria</strong> Emergency<br />

Management Council.<br />

principal policy and planning documents <strong>for</strong> emergency management in <strong>Victoria</strong>. It is designed to provide you<br />

with in<strong>for</strong>mation and guidance on what the emergency management arrangements are, the role of various<br />

organisations within them and the planning and management arrangements.The various sections include State,<br />

Divisional, <strong>Regional</strong> and Municipal Emergency Management planning; Response; Recovery; relevant Legislation<br />

Following the tragic events of 11 September 2001, the World <strong>Tourism</strong> Organization (WTO), the world umbrella<br />

organisation <strong>for</strong> tourism, has undertaken a number of actions relating to crises impacting on the tourism industry.<br />

This includes the creation of a committee in monitoring events affecting the tourism industry, identifying trends<br />

and responding to new developments and the production of publications relating to this issue such as <strong>Crisis</strong><br />

Guidelines <strong>for</strong> the <strong>Tourism</strong> Industry. These publications can be downloaded from the site.<br />
