residing in Nanganallur area. 150 ladies <strong>and</strong> children were examined by the doc<strong>to</strong>rs.<br />
In Jul 07 a Dental Camp was conducted in co-ordination with Adhi Parasakthi Hospital at<br />
Royapuram. 86 personnel <strong>and</strong> families were examined. The families were also apprised about the<br />
Dental Health Hygiene <strong>and</strong> the importance of healthy gums <strong>and</strong> teeth.<br />
In Sep 07, a talk on Anaemia was delivered by Dr (Mrs.) Soumya Mayuri Rao at Royapuram.<br />
Health files of all tatrakshika members residing at Mogappair <strong>and</strong> Royapuram have also been prepared.<br />
SNEHA<br />
During Dec 06, President Tatrakshika (East) Mrs Urmila Singh along with committee members<br />
visited ‘Nimmadhi’, an orphanage <strong>and</strong> old age home. In Aug 07, CGWWA members visited Ammal<br />
Charitable Trust home for destitute <strong>and</strong> orphans. Rice, sugar, tea, coffee, hair oil, biscuits, detergents,<br />
etc. were donated. Biscuits, fruits <strong>and</strong> text books worth Rs. 2000/- were also distributed among the<br />
children.<br />
SANSKAR<br />
In Nov 06, a craft exhibition was held by the children in the Royapuram CG KG school. Prizes<br />
were distributed <strong>to</strong> the children in various categories. In Dec 06, Christmas was celebrated by the<br />
children <strong>and</strong> Annual Day function was held during Feb 07 in both the schools. Children presented a<br />
variety programme which was appreciated by all the parents. COMCG(E) gave away the prizes <strong>to</strong> the<br />
all-rounders <strong>and</strong> winners.<br />
In Aug 07, Independence Day was celebrated in both the CG KG Schools at Royapuram <strong>and</strong><br />
Mogappair. National flag was hoisted by officers followed by patriotic songs <strong>and</strong> distribution of sweets<br />
<strong>to</strong> the staff <strong>and</strong> children. A PTA meeting was also held during which the committee members were<br />
present <strong>to</strong> discuss various issues brought out by the parents. Emphasis was laid on rules & regulation<br />
of the school, discipline, cleanliness, diet planning etc. A work shop was conducted by Mrs Geetmala<br />
Murlidharan for the teachers of Royapuram school. The main <strong>to</strong>pics covered were the group activities<br />
for children, painting, craft, paper folding, making of time table <strong>and</strong> record book of children. Health<br />
checkup was also organised in both the schools. Doc<strong>to</strong>rs advised the parents on healthy eating habits<br />
for their children.<br />
Teacher’s Day was celebrated during Sep 07. The President Tatrakshika, Mrs Thrity Contrac<strong>to</strong>r<br />
visited the CGKG school, Royapuram <strong>and</strong> felicitated the teachers <strong>to</strong> mark the Teachers Day. President<br />
Tatrakshika (East), Mrs Urmila Singh gave gifts <strong>to</strong> the teachers at Mogappair on Teacher’s Day.<br />
