Course Descriptions<br />
Each course is identified by a six character alpha<br />
numeric code. The first three characters identify the<br />
subject code, the next three or four digits identify the<br />
catalog number. The department code indicates<br />
division or department sponsorship of the course. See<br />
column to the right for a listing of the department<br />
codes. The catalog number indicates the level of the<br />
course. Courses described in this section are listed in<br />
alphabetical order.<br />
Read the description of the course carefully before<br />
you register for it, noting any prerequisite, corequisite,<br />
and the number of class hours. Each description lists<br />
the required number of student contact hours per<br />
week for a 15 week semester. For example, PHY 101<br />
General Physics 1, 3 lect., 3 lab., 4 cr., meets for three<br />
lecture hours and three laboratory hours each week,<br />
over a semester of 15 weeks. Four credits are received<br />
on successful completion of the course. Consult your<br />
faculty advisor if you have any questions about the<br />
level or the content of a course.<br />
Due to academic and fiscal considerations, not all<br />
courses can be offered each semester of every year.<br />
Courses taught only in the fall or spring semesters are<br />
so identified; otherwise, courses may be taught both<br />
semesters. Therefore, this catalog should not be<br />
considered a contractual offer from the college to any<br />
prospective student.<br />
Frequency and Timing of Course Offerings<br />
Unless specific semesters are listed, courses are<br />
offered on an occasional basis. The college reserves<br />
the right to not offer a course when scheduled, based<br />
upon budgetary or staffing needs.<br />
