micro details i.e. local level information, in order to develop an intensity pattern these scattered location
need to be ‗collapsed‘ or ‗merged‘ in lesser points, where each point will represent a larger area.
The RTA incident data is summarized on the basis of their common location; the micro level location
details are merged in macro level to map the city-level scenario of RTAs. For this purpose 320 Analysis
points are marked and then the incident data of near-by points (Figure 4. An Analysis point with near-by
RTA incidents) is attached to respective Analysis points.
Figure 4. An Analysis point with near-by RTA incidents
The summarized RTA incidents (Analysis points) resulted into 320 points that need further processing to
‗normalize‘ the data values. When the spatial analysis algorithm applied on these 320 points to interpolate
the RTA density (Figure 5. Analysis Points and their Interpolated Result), the resultant pattern also put
the areas with no RTA incident record into high density values as they are surrounded by points with very
high number of RTAs.
