1. What do you mean by Scalar and Vector potentials? Show that they satisfy an<br />
inhomogeneous wave equation under Lorentz condition.<br />
2. Show that Maxwell's field equations are Covariant under Lorentz transformation.<br />
3. Define a Plasma State. Enumerate the concept of temperature in Plasmas and the<br />
Collective behaviours of Plasma.<br />
4. Enumerate the various quantum numbers which are used to describe the motion of<br />
an electron.<br />
5. What is Zeeman effect? Distinguish between normal and anomalous Zeeman effect.<br />
Discuss experimental arrangement for observing normal Zeeman effect.<br />
6. Discuss vibrational spectra of a diatomic molecule as a harmonic vibrator.<br />
7. Describe the principle of N.M.R. Spectroscopy. Enumerate continuous wave NMR<br />
Spectrometer. Discuss the modality to record the Spectrum in this Spectrometer.<br />
8. What do you mean by the word LASER? Enumerate the principle of Laser.<br />
Describe Rubi Laser. Give the applications of laser.<br />
9. Discuss size, mass, mass defect and binding energy of atomic nucleus. Describe<br />
the variation of binding energy per nucleon with mass number and related<br />
consequences.<br />
10. Give an account of liquid drop model of nucleus.
